Memories from over the years.
In 2020, I started building DXRemote for ham radio operators. It was a web service that allowed any computer controllable radio to be operated via a common, user-friendly UI. Through a registed account, a user could quickly download the crossplatform radio server, configure it through the wizard, and the radio would automatically show up on their web dashboard, ready to use.
Highlight Features
Through hundreds and hundreds of hours of development, I took DXRemote from a dream invention to a reality. Starting with perfecting my home station's integrations, then later working with larger stations through the DXRemote Beta program, I continuously improved the performance and reliability while expanding the featureset far beyond any existing software (to date 😁).
Every year I go to the biggest ham radio convention to network. I would always bring the latest cool features to show off, and I gained a lot of early interest and support through my demos and chats.
Despite all of my passionate effort, the constant upkeep and pressure to do a public release led me to put an indefinite pause on the DXRemote project. As much as I want to jump back in and take my shot at disrupting the remote ham radio space, I have to live a little, outside of the code editor. Besides, working a real job this past year has been much more stable.
Check back here in a bit... I might have some more memories to share. Or you never know, maybe DXRemote will be back online! For now, I put a few pictures I together that I found from my time with DXRemote.
